Prototype Lites Race in Watkins Glen (part of Sahlen’s 6hrs of the Glen)
We had the opportunity to drive two races as the support series for the Tudor Series, the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. Watkins Glen is probably one of the best tracks in North America. Iconic, legendary and a challenging. After a good qualification run for the first race I was unfortunately visited by the electronics gremlins that kept me stuck in 3rd gear for half a lap. The pit crew fixed it in record time but I had to do serious catching up and finished P7. On Saturday we had our second race under very challenging conditions. It started in the dry and mid race we swapped to rains. Again, I had the unfortunate same problem with the 3rd gear stuck for half a lap. Fortunately this time, the fix and the wet tire change was done on the same pit stop and I hardly lost position. Finished P5. Not what I hoped for but important for adding points to the championship.
