Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama 2019
This is hands down one of the most beautiful racetracks in North America. Privately owned by a racing enthusiast, well maintained and an Indy racetrack. For me it was the first time on this track. It did not disappoint. The flow of the track is very good and although pretty much every high-speed corner is blind it is a lot of fun to drive over there. With 28 cars competing it was also a very challenging race. This challenge got even bigger when I crashed in qualifying what we later found out was a combination of being on the limit with some oil film on the track. In any case, the mechanic repaired the car in record time and I was able to race on the same day and …. finished P3. My first podium of the season.
