Radical Masters in Spa Francorchamps

Last weekend we had the long anticipated race on one of the most legendary tracks in the world, Circuit de Spa Francorchamps. We arrived on Wednesday in the hope for a Thursday practice session which unfortunately didn’t happen. So, on Friday I was faced with a sharp learning curve, a new car, right hand drive, set up for slow speed (Spa is ultra fast speed) and only one practice session. The second fell short due to set up issues … then qualy. Needless to say a major challenge with 22 SR8’s on the grid and me the only one new to the track. Hence, I was not too happy with the qualification result. It basically came down to learning by doing (racing).

Unfortunately, the race was cut short due to a massive accident in Eau Rouge and due to the severity of the crash the FIA suspended the race pending further investigation.
All in all still a great experience with an unfortunate outcome. By the time the accident occurred I was on P14.
